For A Mother Like No Other

For A Mother Like No Other

The Brooklyn Autism Center was founded by a mom, Sydnee Jorgl, with one goal in mind: to create a teaching environment where children like her son Ian could thrive.

Starting with just four students, BAC began building a small community of families and teachers to serve a growing population of children with autism. Thirteen years later, our school has grown beyond our wildest dreams, expanding from our humble beginnings housed in a community church to the soon-to-be-new location in Downtown Brooklyn.

In honor of Mother's Day, we’d like to take the opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our moms, all of whom have helped to make this school the special place it is today. While being a mother of a child with autism can be immensely challenging, it can also be incredibly rewarding. Autism doesn't come with a manual, it comes with parents who never give up and those are our parents!

They are more than just moms. They are advocates, educators, cheerleaders, warriors, and every day heroes. They need and deserve all our support!

Happy Mother's Day!!
