Back-to-School never looked so good!

Back-to-School never looked so good!

Welcome BAC(K) to school! After an extremely eventful summer, we are very excited to announce that we are officially moved into our new space! Our founders Sydnee and Jon Jorgl, along with staff and volunteers worked tirelessly over the summer to create the welcoming new school environment for our students to thrive in. We moved just across the hall to triple the foot print into what was the former Helen Keller pre-school. There is great history and vibes in this space and we can’t wait to share it with our community!

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.
-Helen Keller

It has been wonderful to see how enthusiastic our students are for the new space and school year. They handled the transition like champs with no small thanks to our incredible team of teachers. Careful preparation was the key to the success in this move. A huge THANK YOU to our entire staff, parents, and volunteers for their support in helping to make this transition as smooth as possible!

This expanded space enables us to provide versatile spaces and designated areas for students based on their age, interests and skill development needs. We have more room for students to move, and separate areas that foster group work, play and socialization for all ages. Plus, designated vocational spaces to provide job and life skill training opportunities for our older students.

We are brimming with a renewed enthusiasm
and ready to take on the new school year!

BAC is an oasis in the middle of the bustling Downtown Brooklyn neighborhood. We are a diverse, forward thinking, engaging, and community oriented organization. Our mission to provide the highest quality education to children with autism goes unchanged. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of care for which we are known and will continue to do so.

We are brimming with a renewed enthusiasm and ready to take on the new school year! This fall will see the return of some of our most beloved activities, including therapeutic horseback riding with GallopNYC, our Peer Mentoring program ‘BAC Friends’, our Brooklyn Friends ‘inclusion program’, our vocational/life skills partnership with Shake Shack and our first program with theater specialists ‘Only Make Believe’. We have a lot to look forward to in the upcoming months and cannot wait to share all the great things happening at our school.
