Utilizing Technology

At the Brooklyn Autism Center Academy, we are constantly exploring and utilizing new technology to enhance our students’ curriculums. To this end, each of our students receives an iPad upon enrollment as a customized tool to enrich and expand his or her learning experience. Our iPad program customizes language-based, academic programs for each student based on his or her individualized goals. Additional "homework" applications are downloaded and sent home each day via iPad to assist students during leisure time, at restaurants, and during vacations. Instructors are constantly evaluating and updating iPad programming to maximize academic and social goals both in school and at home. Ongoing parent training is provided to maximize effectiveness with the iPad when students are not at school.
