Generalization is a key component of success for children with autism. A primary characteristic of children with autism is a lack of social relatedness. While there are many treatment programs geared toward addressing this problem on a clinical level, our program targets this in a naturalistic setting with trained staff and typically developed children who are taught how to interact with our kids.
The BAC offers a peer socialization after-school program on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:30 pm. Children with autism and their typically developing peers from neighborhood schools play together, dance and collaborate on art projects under the supervision of BAC behavioral instructors.
