Our Curriculum
At the BAC, programming is individualized for each student and is completely data-driven. Children work 1:1 with an instructor that is trained in Applied Behavior Analysis. The day is broken into 30 minute sessions and all instructors rotate every 30 minutes to promote generalization across teachers.
We target skills in all domains, including self-care, language skills, socialization, play skills and pragmatic language. Every child's program is specifically tailored to their own individual needs using the most effective procedures for each individual. Instructors record discrete trial data on every skill we teach and graph data daily to track progress and make program adjustments. All parents are required to come in for at least two hours per month and are provided with individual training to transfer skills from the school environment to the home.
Children go on field trips, take walks to the park, learn to ride scooters, bicycles and rollerskate. All leisure and recreational skills are designed to promote socialization and inclusion in the general community.
